100yrs at Rosslea!

To commemorate a century of history at our Rosslea site, the Townsville Golf Club conducted a flag-raising ceremony and time capsule burial on Thursday, 18 April 2024. This event was graced by the presence of esteemed Life Members, Committee officials, members of the Development Advisory Group, golf legend Karrie Webb, and our valued membership.
The journey of TGC began in 1893 at Kissing Point in North Ward, until 1921, when it briefly moved to Aitkenvale before finding its permanent home on the scenic banks of the Ross River in Rosslea.
A heartfelt appreciation goes out to all the volunteers who assisted in setting up the flagpoles and preparing the site for the time capsule burial, as well as those who contributed behind the scenes.
Our Time Capsule, containing memories and mementos of our club’s 131yrs of history, will be unearthed once again in 2043, marking the grand occasion of the Townsville Golf Club’s 150th anniversary!
