Established in 1893, the Townsville Golf Club is reportedly the oldest golf club in Queensland. The Club has been situated at three different localities in Townsville. From 1893 to 1921 at Kissing Point, 1921 to 1924 at Aitkenvale and since 18 April 1924 at our present site at Benson Street, Rosslea on the picturesque Ross River, less than 10 minutes from the CBD.
Our membership of men and women is reflective of all walks of Townsville life. Whether you are considering joining as a full or social member, the Townsville Golf Club has something for everyone. From the seasoned golfer on a low handicap (try the championship Blue Course), to those who like a day out with friends, the Townsville Golf Club is one of the most pleasant courses in North Queensland.
The first stage of the course redevelopment, from a 27 hole course to an 18 hole, is complete and in February 2016, seven of the new holes were opened for competition and social play. Redevelopment of the golf course and a new club house is anticipated to be finalised in 18 months.
The course is challenging and winds its way around the new residential development. It has very large undulating greens, hundred year old rain trees lining many of the fairways, and seasonal blooming, colourful trees.
Membership is now available. Click here for details.
